My Top 5 Stye At Home Treatments

Happiness is the highest form of health

  1. Heated Eye Mask(Electric)

This has been one of the best products I have used. Traditional compresses sometimes do not get nearly as hot as they need to be to liquify the stye. Heated masks tend to be more expensive but the results are better. You need to break down the stye from its wax like consistency to a more liquid form. Once you have used the mask for about 15 minutes make sure to massage the stye and try to move that liquid to the portion of the eye where the lashes are.

There are many products that fit this but I highly recommend this one.

2. Heated Eye Mask(Microwavable)

This method is a bit more of the classic way of doing it but it is still efficient as it gets fairly hot compared to a warm compress. The only issue with these is that they still tend to cool down too fast to actually help you. They help most people but some styes require heat to be constant for up to 15 minutes. They are usually cheaper then the electric version which is why its number two on my list.

I have used this product in the past and I would recommend this one over others.

3. Face Cleanser

Face cleansing isn’t so much a cure like the others but a way to prevent further styes as well as for greater pore health. I do this daily and make sure to prevent further outbreaks. Doing this makes sure you get all those bits and pieces you cant see off your eye lids and lashes that could if not handled, create styes down the road.

I use this brand a lot for cleansing and as well for my acne.

4. Eye Spray

I know what you are thinking… Why. Hear me out, these are very effective at treating a whole host of problems relating to a stye like dry eye, redness, and irritation. It’s another effective measure when it comes to get rid of a stye.

Ive used this product in the past and it didn’t have the results I was looking for. Although it was effective in cleaning and preventing new styes from forming. I do recommend this type of product for overall prevention measures.

Ive used this product exactly and its rather nice although there are others out there.

5. Traditional Warm Compresses

If you are gonna go down the most common route to removing a stye, allow me to give you some tricks.

First, I highly recommend you use something that can absorb heat and last for a long period of time. Like a wash cloth or rag. I used to use paper towels but those lose their heat rapidly. Potatoes I have heard are good option as well when you wrap them in something like a wash cloth. The goal is to have consistent heat for up to 15 minutes. You also do not want it to be too warm because burning yourself will only create more problems.

Secondly, once you have succeeded in getting consistent heat for up to 15 minutes you need to massage your stye after. Massaging your stye once its in liquid form is how you release that liquid. This part is VERY important and shouldn’t be skipped.

Last but not least keep doing this. You need to keep at this if you wish to have results for your stubborn stye. I would say repeat this process 2-3 times over and over so you can get good results.

I also want to say I am no medical professional, I simply know what its like to have a stye and want to share my knowledge on how to remove them. If your stye does not go away after awhile you should see your eye doctor.
